    Joining Data - Incorrect totals

    Laura Cheeping

      Hello,

I am trying to Join 1 sheet in a data source to another in the same data source in order to be able to use one of the fields as a filter in my worksheets and dashboards.  I have tried all of the joins and it keeps returning the wrong totals and I can't figure out why.  I am attaching the workbook for reference.

      Objective:

      1. Trying to join 2017-2018 Data Sheet to Accounts Data sheet.

      2. Both 2017-2018 Data Sheet and Accounts should be joined using a Combo columns

           a. 2017-2018 Data Sheet Column title = Combo

           b. Account Data Sheet = Client/Order Combo

      3. Want to return back who the account Manager is listed as in the Accounts sheet for each row on the 2017-2018 Data Sheet.

      4. Totals that it should be:

      20172018
Row LabelsSum of Inv TotalSum of GP %Sum of Inv TotalSum of GP %
      1$3,868,10331.9%$4,148,75832.5%
      2$3,621,95331.4%$4,219,53630.6%
      3$4,133,31432.1%$4,300,77131.1%
      4$3,977,70532.1%$4,431,00229.9%
      5$3,936,72131.0%$4,484,40831.1%
      6$3,906,72732.2%$4,682,78930.7%
      7$3,426,40131.4%#DIV/0!
      8$3,868,07832.1%#DIV/0!
      9$3,594,82932.7%#DIV/0!
      10$4,162,64233.9%#DIV/0!
      11$4,561,37334.1%#DIV/0!
      12$4,652,40431.8%#DIV/0!
      Grand Total$47,710,25132.3%$26,267,26431.0%

      5. Totals that I am getting in Tableau after I do the join - before join the totals were correct.
