    Extracting Individual Worksheets from Story

    Gaurav Gupta-Casale

I am planning on embedding the Stories I created on Tableau Public into a separate website. I am wondering is it possible to extract individual worksheets that compose that story without having to save it as it's own worksheet on the Tableau Public profile page. For example, is it possible to extract an embedding code for a worksheet from the Story?

One of the main reasons I ask is because the profile page can get quite crowded when there are multiple worksheets and stories.

      Thank you for your help!

Use the following steps, which will allow you to only save the viz to Tableau Public once, but embed any of the sheets/dashboards:

          1) Make sure all the sheets/dashboards you wish to embed are not hidden when you save to public.

          2) After saving to public, click the "Edit Details" button on the top right. Then scroll down to the bottom and select the "Show workbook sheets as tabs" option.

Now, each worksheet/dashboard will show on a separate tab.

          3) Click on any of the tabs, then get the embed code. That embed code will be specific to that tab. However, if you use that embed code, that sheet/dashboard will show, but you'll see all the tabs at the top as well. Fortunately, you can hide the tabs. Take, for example, the embed code below.

          <div class='tableauPlaceholder' id='viz1530920052310' style='position: relative'><noscript><a href='http:&#47;&#47;www.kenflerlage.com&#47;2017&#47;01&#47;the-most-powerful-superheroes-and.html'><img alt=' ' src='https:&#47;&#47;public.tableau.com&#47;static&#47;images&#47;Su&#47;SuperheroesSupervillains&#47;Top25&#47;1_rss.png' style='border: none' /></a></noscript><object class='tableauViz'  style='display:none;'><param name='host_url' value='https%3A%2F%2Fpublic.tableau.com%2F' /> <param name='embed_code_version' value='3' /> <param name='site_root' value='' /><param name='name' value='SuperheroesSupervillains&#47;Top25' /><param name='tabs' value='yes' /><param name='toolbar' value='yes' /><param name='static_image' value='https:&#47;&#47;public.tableau.com&#47;static&#47;images&#47;Su&#47;SuperheroesSupervillains&#47;Top25&#47;1.png' /> <param name='animate_transition' value='yes' /><param name='display_static_image' value='yes' /><param name='display_spinner' value='yes' /><param name='display_overlay' value='yes' /><param name='display_count' value='yes' /></object></div>                <script type='text/javascript'>                    var divElement = document.getElementById('viz1530920052310');                    var vizElement = divElement.getElementsByTagName('object')[0];                    vizElement.style.width='1366px';vizElement.style.height='860px';                    var scriptElement = document.createElement('script');                    scriptElement.src = 'https://public.tableau.com/javascripts/api/viz_v1.js';                    vizElement.parentNode.insertBefore(scriptElement, vizElement);                </script>

There is a parameter in there called "tabs". If you set "value" to "no", then it will hide the tabs when you embed: param name='tabs' value='no'

I think that should do it for you.
