You'd better re-shape the data source with pivoting.
I don't know how you connect to original multiple tables, so if you could attach original file separately, we can probably provide the absolute solutions.
Are these excel or some database? In some data base's case, pivot requires custom SQL.
Shin - thanks for your reply. I pivoted the data and remade my sheets, but still can't figure out how to isolate lines in the two graphs on the dashboard simultaneously. My data came from an Excel file, if that matters (attached)

Ah, I figured it out! I changed my data again so the age categories were still in their own columns, but the different measures I want (rate and index) are pivoted. This way I can show each age group alone, and filter out with measure I need in each chart, but since the charts pull from the same columns, selecting one age group isolates it in each chart. Thanks for the nudge int he right direction!
