    "Contains" missing under Wildcard Filter

    Tamara Otley

I'm very new to Tableau, and I am trying to add a Wildcard filter using "Contains" to find a certain word anywhere in the field, but with this particular data source, the "Contains" option is missing. How do I get it back?

The first picture is what it looks like with my old PostgreSQL data-source, and the second is with my new Inform-ix database data-source.

      Thank you in advance!!!

you could write a formula and use it directly as a filter

contains([DIMENSION],'TRANSIENT')  place it on the filter shelf and set to True

keep in mind it is a literal comparison
