% values in Grant totals

Hi Team,

I need to show grand totals In the text table like mentioned below.

I have applied % of total by Table and Row and Column grand totals(highlighted in green) are working fine but row % values are not working fine.

Row % value should be calculated from row gran totals but now % is calculating from Column grand total (2297201).

Expected result.

You can see calculation in the attached excel file.

Hi Prajval,

Change compute using to group and get it.

Hi Prajbval,

You can change the calculation to run across the table:

Then create another sheet where the % of total runs table down:

Then combine in a dashboard:

But i can not add one more on the Dashboard for row grand totals.

I should do achieve all this in a single view. Because client asking for export to excel sheet where they can see all values in a single sheet.

In the below view you have added one view for row grand totals which i also tried but client rejected.

Hi Sankar,

I should show rows % also. in your solution Rows Grand Total % is 100% for all.

Hi Prajval,

I'm able to do this but it does require a fair bit of effort. You cannot use grand totals in this case because you want the content to be calculated across the table, yet the grand total to be calculated table down. Tableau only allows for one direction as the grand total is a total which tableau calculates based on the existing view.

To do what you require:

You'll have to union your dataset to itself, so essentially there is double of everything:

Then update your group calculation to:

Then create 3 calculations first one is:

Second is:

Then create the final calculation as:

Then bring % of total into the view:

Using this method, you now have your own grand total.

Please bear in mind that if you wish to create other visualisations, you should always remember to filter the data by Table Name = Orders. As you've unioned the data to itself, you'll be be double counting otherwise.

Thanks,

Mavis

super mavis, exactly thats what i am looking for.

Even data become double, we can do this for small set of data.

Thank you, thank you so much.
