I spent a few hours on this. I think I got you close to what you're looking for. Please hide Sheet 2. Sheet 1 references Sheet 2 as a Viz-in-Tooltip feature to get to the view you're trying to do.
Please see attached version 2018.1. If this resolves your issue please mark it as correct, or helpful if it pointed you in the right direction, so that others may find it useful in the future. Thx, Don
Thanks so much for the solution.
This really helps. This is the solution i'm looking for but I cannot use date parameter. I need to use date filter because i'll have to default the dashboard to filter to latest date when workbook is opened.
Is there a way to use it with date filter? I tried it but couldn't get to the solution.
ill see what I can do - mIght be a couple of days as I’m with clients. Unless someone else gets to it first!
Great! Thank you so much Don!
Not sure if this tests out for your requirement, but logically it should work. I set a date filter in the filters card to set the Parameter to look for dates <=TODAY(). Hopefully it plays out well for your needs.
As background, If I try to revert the Parameter Control to straight calculations, then I lose the measures altogether. I spent a few hours on it last night and along with some extensive research, now understand why parameters are needed. Because, anything I did from a new measure (calc) perspective (whether an LOD or a logical calculation) simply resulted in Null values. So, hopefully the newly attached works for you. Thx, Don
This looks great Don. I really appreciate your help!
This is the solution i'm looking for but in our organization we are using Tableau 10.3.4 . I believe this tooltip viz feature is available in 10.5.
So just wondering if there is any other way/alternative for doing this.
