Looks like you are using Table Calculations, which is a really useful technique. Table calculations rely on what's being displayed on the sheet to run a secondary calculation, in your case either a Difference or a YTD. If we filter the data then we modify what's displayed on the sheet and therefore alter the secondary calculation. Instead, we can 'hide' the data.
Couple of ways to do this. Manually by right clicking on the columns we want to hide:
Or using a table calculation function like LAST() that can be used on the 'Filters' shelf but in reality is only hiding the data not filtering it:
