Formatting issues with Difference and YTD

    Albert Levy

I have difficulties to present the difference between 2 columns. Tableau automatically creates 2 colums with the difference. However, only 1 column out of 2 is used (the other one is empty). Is it possible to hide this column without affecting the calculations?

Also, I would like to create a YTD table where the user would select a desired month (through a filter). He would then have the YTD value (from jan to the given month). For the moment, the only way I found out to present YTD is to select all the previous months in the filter. However, I would like to simplify my table to get only the number desired. Any input?

      Thank You!
