I see Amazon Athena Support for Views was released on June 5, 2018 and latest Tableau Desktop version was released on May 2018.
I would say that Tableau does not support Amazon Athena Views yet.

OK, the answer to my question is that YES, Tableau does support the ability to QUERY a view. However, it will not DISPLAY the view in the manner it would a table. I assume this will come in an update. For anyone else looking to use views in Tableau today, use a custom SQL query. This would be the same query you would use to create the view in Athena except you run it locally in Tableau.
In case anyone else stumbles on this, here is a detailed post we wrote to explain how to support views in Tableau with Athena: https://blog.openbridge.com/how-to-use-amazon-athena-views-within-tableau-in-3-simple-steps-c810396a2e3b
