# Explain [Measure Values] as the result of a logical statement?

So I have this as a calculated field on a Workbook I've inherited:

Web Visits

Role: Continuous Measure Type: Calculated Field Default aggregation: Sum Status: Valid

Formula

if
[Metric Code] = 'WHIT' OR
[Metric Code] = 'LAWH' OR
[Metric Code] = 'SDWH' OR
[Metric Code] = 'SFWH' OR
[Metric Code] = 'DCWH'
then zn([Metric Value]) else 0 end

Domain

0 to 16,580

My Question:

[Web Visits] is not in the tables imported from the server, so how can I find out where it comes from?  How does [Metric Value] have any meaning to Tableau?

Hi Jamie,

WEB Visits is a Calculated Field and is not in your Original Data, It is based upon this Formula which is based upon two fields, [Metric Code] and [Metric Value].

if

[Metric Code] = 'WHIT' OR

[Metric Code] = 'LAWH' OR

[Metric Code] = 'SDWH' OR

[Metric Code] = 'SFWH' OR

[Metric Code] = 'DCWH'

then zn([Metric Value]) else 0 end

Thanks

Deepak
