# Calculated field as a Parameter Drop-down

Hi All,

I have a requirement where I need to pass calculated field as a parameter dropdown along with string value to show  in a bar graph.

I am trying to create parameter drop down value based on calculated field along with string value.

As Shown below when i am selecting profit ratio returning null,Also how do i convert this profit ratio value to % in a graph.

I have Attached the workbook for reference.

Hi,

Try if the below thing works.

Create another sheet for the profit ration logic and do the formatting.

Now apply a condition to the second sheet to display when the parameter selection is profit ration.

Since your profit ration needs separate formatting I think we need to split the visualization into multiple sheets and display based on the selection.

Pavan

Is it something like drill down you are referring to? if you dont  mind could you please elaborate.

• ###### 5. Re: Calculated field as a Parameter Drop-down

Is this close to what you were looking to do?

New Breakdown Calc:

CASE [Breakdown By]

WHEN 'Product' then [Product Name]

WHEN 'Region' then [Region]

WHEN 'Segment' then [Segment]

WHEN '%Profit Ratio' then STR(INT({fixed MONTH([Order Date]): SUM([Profit])/SUM([Sales])}*100)) + "%"

END

I've fixed it only on the MONTH() to match what you were displaying.

Best,

Bryce
