Hi Suvas Chandra ,
The way you are creating is way too complex ,tableau have their own way of creating these kind of parameter.
Create a new param .
Change the display format as shown .
Try doing this way and it will work .In case you face some issue or stuck somewhere please attach a twbx file .
Please mark it right and helpful if this serves your purpose ,so that others can also get benefited .
I need to create the parameter in that way for different reasons. This parameter is used in a workbook which has more than 30 work sheets. So, this parameter cannot be changed.
BTW, my question was not about the parameter. It is about how can you get Inception to date controlled by that parameter.
This formula is very close. Year works fine, but Quarter doesn't. If I choose 2017 Q1 from parameter, it will show all Q1 dates for all years from inception. If I choose, Q2, it will show all Q2 values from inception to date. Same for Q3 and Q4.
(INT(LEFT([Quarter End],4)) >= YEAR([QE Date]))
AND (RIGHT([Quarter End],1) >= RIGHT([Quarter 1],1))
I think Quarter comparison is not working. Probably, it is not integer or date.
This one works:
IF INT(LEFT([Quarter End],4)) > YEAR([QE Date])
OR (INT(LEFT([Quarter End],4)) = YEAR([QE Date]) AND RIGHT([Quarter End],1) >= RIGHT([Quarter 1],1))
THEN "SHOW" ELSE "HIDE"
How can I modify this formula to show data only for last five years based on the parameter selection ?
