# Creating Dual Lines and Dual Axis Comparing AVG(Sales) for ALL Categories vs SUM(Sales) ONE Category

See attached file

How do I change the first calculation of AVG(Sales(All Categories)) so that it shows one average line and not 3 average lines (one for each category)? That one line should be the average of the sum of Furniture, Technology and Office Supplies.

Once I do that, then I can create a Dual Axis to compare the Sum of the one Categories against the Average of all the Categories.

If you want to do any filteration for that constant line, add category to Context . if not, just remove category from Context.

If it helps, pl mark it Helpful and CORRECT to Close Thread.

Thanks

Deepak

Just remove Category from color.

Again, thank you for your excellent answer. However, now that I see the results, I don't want a straight line average. I want the graph to plot an average for each month and not an average for the entire year. That way the line with not be straight. Can you help me with that?

I opened the file and the shape of the line looks right but I have a question on the numbers. My calculations below show that the average for January for the Avg. Sales should be 225,596 and not 259.21. See attached.

Sales(Furniture) = 228,829
Sales(Technology) = 225,531
Sales(Office Supplies) = 222,428

Sum of Sales = 676,788

Average of the Sum of Sales = 676,788 / 3 = 225,596

Can you send the updated .twbx file? I want to open it and mouse-over the January line for Avg. Sales to see if it's 225,596.
