# rolling 30 days sun from selected data

Trying to do a rolling sum 30 days from the day selected. So if the user selects 4/27/18 they get a sum of my metric for 4/27 + every day before for 29 days. If they select 5/1/17 they will see a sum for 5/1 and 29 days prior?

Hi Stephan,

it changes if you have all the date(no missing date) or not.

Assuming you don't have missing date,

Filtering the View Without Filtering Underlying Data | Tableau Software

Hi Shin,

The article you posted was really helpful! I thought the only way to do this was with a parameter - glad to learn that I can use Table Calcs to filter in a situation like this.

On thing to use table cal filter.

Because this is using Table calc, you cannot use this filter as universal = across worksheet.

(If you have multiple worksheet which need to be synchronized with filters, this techniques doe not work.)

Thanks,

Shin

i am curious, is there a method for this that would allow for a universal filter and/or parameter?

As long as I know to make universal filter-like work, only parameter works.

if [date] = [param.date] then "show" else 'hide" end

And "Hide" "hide" not filter out.

Thanks,

Shin
