Thanks for the response.
I am new to Tableau Server. I am using the server since 1 month but only for deploying dashboards. But now when some monitoring is required then I looked into it and couldn't find anything.
Any reference or input you can provide that how should I proceed to check whether the installation was fine or not ?
I am able to see the Monitoring icon but not able to launch it.
I would ask you have you ever tried a remote access to your tableau server using a vdi from CloudDesktopOnline or some hosting provider? I want to know more about it how it works? Any one from the community can give a suggestion/advice
Server Admin - TRC
Maybe you need run as administrator.
If you click or right click the icon a popup menu should appear which would then allow you to make one of the selections. The good news is that none of these options are unique to Tableau Server Monitor and can be accessed via different methods although the Tableau Server Monitor puts them all in one place. Below is a screenshot of the menu (this is with Tableau Server 10.5.2 installed)
Really most of the above commands are links to call "Tabadmin". For Windows Tableau Server, the Tabadmin command should be run on the Primary node (if on a multi-node system) but if you have standalone there's only one node.
On the Primary itself you want to open a command window as administrator and change to the "bin" directory. Mine would look like this:
C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\10.5\bin
Then you can run the various commands"
Start server - tabadmin start
Stop server - tabadmin stop
Restart server - tabadmin restart
Display status - tabadmin status
The command Prompt method works completely fine for me.
The only Issue I am having when I try to do it through the Tableau Server Monitor Icon.
I tried to open it normally ,by clicking Run as Administrator , by double clicking. But Nothing works.
But Thanks for your time
