# Relative Date filter shows 2 quarters less data? Is this a problem with the data structure or normal for relative filters? Any workaround for it

I am using a simple relative date filter and it doesn't show as many periods (quarter) as I would like. For example, when I put the number of quarters to 14, it will show me 12 quarters. It become confusing for the user, since when they want to see 4 quarters worth of data, they have to select 6, if they want to see 12 quarters worth of data, they have to select 14 and so on.

Is this normal with relative filters, or is it just me? Also is there a workaround it, where I can select 12 quarters/months/years and it still shows me 12 period worth of data and not 10?

I have attached the sample workbook. As you can see the relative filter has 10 as its values (for quarters) but the number of quarters on the axis are only 8

Amit,

This is Happening because Relative date filter anchors last value to with respect to Current. You don't have any thing for this year, so you are not seeing it. So, to take care of that you need to use this Calculation

Drag it to Filter and Set Tue. This will show u last 5 because it would count Quarter difference as 0,1,2,3,4

and if you need, last 10 then

Thanks

Deepak

One more Thing, You can Set up a parameter Like to Select 1,2, 3, 4 quarters you need  and Change the Calc to get Automatic Changes:

DATEDIFF('quarter', (D Dt), {Max(D Dt)})<=({parameter]-1)

I was trying to do that earlier, I was expecting a button which says "Correct Answer". But I can't seem to locate it. I looked in the action dropdown as well, but can't seem to find it. Any ideas?

The CORRECT Button is in this main Thread of Yours, Under My Reply, Not in Email.
