One connection, multiple schemas and data tables for multiple worksheets

I am having a really hard time with Tableau requiring a new connection to be created each time I want to use a different set of tables from the same database. Why can't I simply create a new source, using an existing (and already open) connection, except that this time I use two different tables that I join for an analysis in a new worksheet ?

Any tips on this would be very much appreciated. At the moment, when I open the workbook, it keeps asking me to connect to the same database several times and I have the impression this is also slowing down terribly the refresh time.

      Thanks and regards

p.s. I am using Tableau Desktop 10.5 on Mac OS X 10.12 and connecting to a Redshift SQL database endpoint
