I was able to use tabcmd with 9.x version itself. So it would be pretty much the same with 10.5 as well.
Currently, I use 10.4 version and shell scripts to refresh the workbook/datasource and download the report as pdf.
All the best
We have used tabcmd on Linux to connect up to Tableau windows servers for many years. We're currently on 10.3.3 and hope to be on 10.5.x later this month. tabcmd is part of our testing prior to our upgrade.
May I know your Tableau Server is installed in Linux environment ?
I have installed tabcmd on RHEL using below script
sudo yum install tableau-tabcmd-<version>.noarch.rpm
But I got this error:
===== Creating new session
===== Server: xxxxxxx
===== Username: xxxxxxx
===== Connecting to the server...
*** Uncaught exception RuntimeException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out (Connection timed out)
*** See the logs for the stacktrace.
Does anyone know where the logs are?
Toyba. Have a look here for where the logs may be.
Hi Jeff, thank you for replying. But the directory doesn't exist, no 'tableau' folder in /var/opt
Hmmm. When Tableau Server was installed, did you use the -d option to move the data directory? If so, you should be able to find the logs within the designated directory that was chosen as part of installation.
