Hi Alexander. One of the requirements in the distributed cluster setup is that all servers are in the same subnet. Is this a possibility for you? Right now, are they in separate subnets?
thank you very much for your response. The answer is: yes, all the Servers are in the same subnet. The screenshot I attached indicates, that the additional Firewall rule I had to configure is only valid in the "local subnet". Should this (manually added) Firewall rule be added to the Tableau server installer in order to avoid manual firewall configurations after the Installation?
ok. I think the initial statement of "all 3 servers run in their own network segment" may have thrown me off and I thought that this meant that they each run in their own subnet. Nonetheless, I haven't run specifically into firewall issues, though I have run into issues with moving the repository too fast. In other words, it needs to be a multi-step process. Step 1, stop the cluster "tabadmin stop" then add the repository onto the worker, then "tabadmin start", Step 2 "tabadmin stop", then remove the repository from primary then "tabadmin start". Problems occur in my experience when you try to remove the repository from primary and add the repository to the worker in the same step.

@Tableau Team: Please advise, whether this procedure is correct.
Just a FYI (honestly...you're not in trouble ): The Tableau Forums are predominantly a volunteer-based, self-help support environment that is not monitored by Tableau Support. If you need official Tableau Support, with case ticket and all that, please see Support & Services | Tableau Software .
Also, it's typically not recommended to tag/mention people in the opening post. People come here voluntarily and will look at and answer what they can as they are under no obligations.
