I've got an issue using the API to sign in to my company's Tableau server. When I try to use my employee ID and standard password (which I would usually use to sign in manually) I get a 401 error. However, when I log in using my public account email/password (the one I use to post here) it accepts the password, then comes back with a 500 Internal server error.
Can anyone help me with this?
You'll need to have your Tableau Server Admin take a look at the log files for Tableau Server, or ask them to open a case with Tableau Support to look at the log files and see why the error is occurring, it's not something we could see without a deep dive in the logs.
