# Difference in Average

Here is sample data for a task I'm trying to update for a work project that I am having difficulty with.

I am trying to show the difference between two averages. In the table below, the avg pts for PG for ATL is 622 and the avg pts for SG is 366. I am trying to show in a column to the right that the difference between these two averages is 256.

Hi Deepak,

This is perfect! Thank you so much.

Could you share the tableau workbook? I would like to see how you got the Measure Values for "AVG(PG)" and "AVG(SG)"

Thank you Deepak, this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Could you share how you got AVG(PG) and AVG (SG) to be its own separate column?

• ###### 6. Re: Difference in Average

I created 2 Separate measures PG and SG. They are under Measures and Dragged all measure values to Rows and filtered out Others except pg and SG. Initiallay, it would show as SUM(PG) and SUM(SG) but by right clicking>Measure>Select Average.

That's it

Thanks

Deepak
