In Tableau Desktop you can filter multiple data sources using related data source filter.

Parameters are global - i.e. they apply to the entire workbook and once set the value remains the same until changed by the user (manually)
so you can create a calculation and use it as a filter on any sheet in the workbook using the parameter - there is not need to "pass the parameter value" from sheet to sheet
