Hi Diksha. The installation for Linux is much the same as Windows, except that you will need to install Python and the appropriate modules. You may also need to edit the config\vizalerts.yaml file to switch the filepath to Linux-friendly forward slashes.
Thanks Matt for responding
And also I wanted to ask that do I have to place the Vizalerts zip file on the server?
Have tried following installation guide, but it was quite not clear to me.
It will be really great, if you can help me out.
Yes. You unzip the file, install Python and all required modules as listed in the documentation, edit your VizAlerts config file. Ensure your Tableau Server's repository database has been opened up, ensure trusted tickets has been set up it too and is working, then edit and publish your VizAlertsConfig workbook. All of the steps necessary are all listed in the documentation. If you're having trouble understanding a step, feel free to tell us which you'd like to better understand, and we can assist.
im trying to do the same in my test environment. Im using 2018.2. I have a question regarding the following instruction on the install guide of vizalert:
on Linux the tabadmin command correspond to tsm, i have the restart command but not the configure. Do i need to run it ? which command do i need to run instead of tabadmin configure?
I believe with TSM, you only need to restart, and don't need the "configure" command anymore.
