    Is this just a bar chart?

    Arunabh Majumdar

      Hi,

      I have been trying to replicate something similar to the image below. I understand that this is a segmented bar chart with probably a quantitative color palette, however I have been unable to do this after spending quite some amount of time. The data set is a dummy set; the main intention here is to just come up with the visualisation for now.

      This is a drill down dashboard, with filters. As you proceed and click on say Grade 1, it comes up with this one below:

      You can see that the filters currently active have been highlighted and we are on the second one in the hierarchy. Say you click on Math, you get this.

      and so on.

      How would I go about doing this? This has been my approach till now.

      Created a Dummy data set just to get the hang of it.

      and the next drill down data

      When I put this up on tableau this is what I have currently have got to. I understand the procedure involved in getting me here and is not randomly trying out different stuff, however unable to proceed from here on to get to what I want.

      Thanks.

          Hi Arunabh,

          Find my approach as reference below and stored in attached workbook version 10.3 located in the original thread.

          1. D1. Max Score: {fixed [Subject]:max([value])}

          2. D2. Min Score: {fixed [Subject]:min([value])}

          3. D3. Interval: ([D1. Max Score]-[D2. Min Score ])/5

          4. D4. First Interval: [D2. Min Score ]+[D3. Interval]

          5. D5. Second Interval: [D4. First Interval]+[D3. Interval]

          6. etc...

          7. DD1. Min Display: {fixed[Subject]:min(if [value]=[D2. Min Score ] then [value] END)}

          8. DD2. Max Display: {fixed[Subject]:max(if [value]=[D1. Max Score] then [value] END)}

          9. Drag all reguired objects to the indicated locations

          10. Define for each interval "reference bands"

          11. with a From & To value

          12. "Un-check" the Include zero box in Edit Axis

          Regards,

          Norbert
