Good Morning,
I'm trying to find a good balance between performance vs Cache settings. We have several workbooks that are not updating when we refresh the data and we feel this is probably due to Cache. Right now our settings are set to Less for refresh so it refreshes about once every 12 hours.
We have a couple of reports which are updated daily and are being accessed by up to 15000 people. I know this gets into a lot of technical like server specs, but wondering if anyone has any experience with such a large client base and using Balanced. The other option I am looking at is building something to the end of the ETL, to use Tab Cmd to refresh the data and maybe Python to clear the cache file.
Thanks,
Hello Andrew,
If you have not reviewed the following KB on keeping data up to date in a view I would check it out.
+ Data in a Tableau Server View is Out of Date | Tableau Software
There a few different options presented which include refreshing for just a specific view or for all views. I would attempt some of these before going into a full ETL process with the Python script manually dumping the cache.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Byrne, Patrick
