# How to count one field not both??

Hi guys!

I got this table that counts the number of people in 'nuevo' and 'renovado' classification, but as shown in the table i got some people that is included in both 'nuevo' and 'renovado', I want to know if somebody can help me to build a calculated field that only counts the field  where only got information in 'nuevo' or 'renovado' not in both.

Thank you so much!!

Hello Monse garcia  You could create a calculated field   If Nuevo = 1 and Renovado = 1 Then Exclude Else Include.  This would bifurcate your data into the two chunks, either being in the intersection of both categories or not.  You could then filter that same calculated field if you wanted to.

Best,

Matthew

the problem is that the name of the field is Classification with this two options 'nuevo' and 'renovado' and don´t know how to put it, and if i choose Exclude and include it says it doesnt exist.

This is how i got the fields, am counting the people (clnumfol) and showing it by classification (clasifu12M).

Thanks!!!!

Hi, Monse

Try to create a calculation field as below

Sum({Fixed [Clnumfol],[Clasifu12M]:countd([Clnumfol])}) <=1

and drag this calculation field to filter and select true.

Please let me know if it works or not

Monse garcia  Try this:   If [Clasiful12M] = 'nuevo' and 'renovado' then 'Both'

Elseif [Clasiful12M] = 'nuevo' Then 'Nuevo'

End

Replace this pill with the [Clasiful12M] pill that is currently on the Columnas shelf.

Perhaps you can attach a workbook?

Did this help?
