We're looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to join our organisation (UK Flexible location)

    Eilidh Balfour

A permanent opportunity has arisen within the British Red Cross' Innovation and Insight department for a Business Intelligence Manager. Innovation and Insight is a key strategic priority for the organisation. Our ambition is to become the 'go to' organisation in a range of environments in the  UK such as the space between home and hospital, the emergency response  market, support to displaced people and first aid learning.

The post holder will lead, develop and take overall ownership for our corporate monitoring  product suite. This work stream requires strong, proactive leadership to successfully shape and embed change. Areas for development include  owning KPI frameworks, reports and dashboards and other metrics; leading a project to transform our existing collection of data reports into a  suite of self-service, interactive products; and building positive and  professional relationships with senior members of the UK Operations  team, to shape the future of business intelligence in the directorate  and lead the organisation towards a culture of insight led decision making.

The Business Intelligence Manager will also scope, design and deliver deep-dive analytics for specific projects or ad-hoc requests. These could vary from rapid interrogation of existing data, to large-scale exploratory analytics. Both these responsibilities will inform the business planning cycle, which the post-holder will be highly influential in informing and supporting with data and analytics.

About the personEducated to degree level or equivalent in a discipline requiring analytical skills, the post holder will have sound technical knowledge of business intelligence, analysis and data reporting techniques, with an ability to use Microsoft Tools to expert level. Expert knowledge of Tableau or Power BI is also highly desirable.

Analytical skills (including being confident working with a wide range of data and being able to apply appropriate analytical techniques) are essential in this role. We
are particularly keen to hear from candidates who are strong leaders with excellent relationship building skills and who are able to think locally and understand the challenges and value for analytics when applied to an individual, with outcomes which may often be difficult to quantify.
