# Color Format for Grand Totals Only

Hellow everyone,

I'm trying to color the grand totals using a calculated field that is supposed to turn green the numbers that are superior to 0.95, turn yellow the numbers between 0.9 and 0.95 and turn red the numbers below 0.9. I've done this before but now I don't know why is not working. Any help will be highly appreciated. I'm attaching my workbook in Tableau 9.3

Thanks,

Javier

Hi Javier

Your book is connected to server and we cannot open.

Please extract the data before creating twbx.

If the data size is huge, please filter the data when you extract data.

Hi Javier

first()=last() plus in this case table (below) can specify the G.total color.

However, I am afraid that you are using table calc and the calculation on g.total is not what you expect??

I don't know what is the expected calculation on G.total and stop at here.

The logic should not be below for G.total, and you want another special calc logic for g.total or need flat average, which I don't know.

This is completely different topic from coloring and way more complicated.

Hellow Shin,

It seems like your function first()=last() worked on sheet 2. However, your assumption is correct, the G.Total calculation is not what I need, what I need is the column average an then color that result.

On the other hand, did you try the first()=last() function on the sheet "Help Please"? On that sheet you'll find that the G.Total is the SUM of the values in the column, but again, I can't change the color so the values that are higher 95% turn green, and so on.

Thanks,

Javier

HI Javier

Regarding G.total re-calc, there are some workaround I/anyone may able to provide.

However, that requires re-creating the formula all over the place. Means start over all of your work.

That's not reasonable to do on this forum because it requires ton of time.

I can only say concept, but again solution is not simple where this forum can provide.

Anyways, I want you to close this thread with marking my answer as correct

and if you can simplify sample data and post new question, I/anyone can work on that.

One example as concept understanding.

Shin
