# How do I create a calculated field with dimension filter

Hi everybody,

I need to create a calculated field with dimension filter, and when I choose some  variables in the dimension "variable" my SCORE M should change.

SCORE M is my calculated field

I have this data where "variable" is a dimension and "score" is a measure

variable  score

X              2

Y              3

Z              2

My calculated field (SCORE M) is X * Y * Z =12, but I would like to choose some variables, for instance: If I choose the variable X and Y then my SCORE M will be 6, because X * Y = 6

(I have a many variable and I need the SCORE M changing automatically every time when I will choose some variables)

Somebody can help me

Thank you

Hi

I think I understand but would like you to post your workbook in a TWBX format to make sure

see below - the formula you want uses previous value it is       Sum(measure)*Previous_Value(1) You can then filter your dimension

If you also Want 6 to be displayed across all Rows after you Filter for X and Y.

Here it is. • ###### 5. Re: How do I create a calculated field with dimension filter

Hi Jim,

The real formula I want to use is:

SCORE M= 1-((1- V)*(1-W)*(1-X)*(1-Y)*(1-Z))

and then choose some variables to recalculated SCORE M, like a filter dimension

Thank you

I am posting the workbook

Hi Deepak,

The real formula I want to use is:

SCORE M= 1-((1- V)*(1-W)*(1-X)*(1-Y)*(1-Z))

I need to choose some variables to recalculated SCORE M, I only need one number

Thank you
