Hello, if you need a tableau public viz, workbook, or explanation of usage of logical functions.
Here's a dashboard I built when I first started working at Tableau software a long time ago! And I hope it impacts your day to day, as much as it did mine when I first started utilizing the product... (so hard to memorize everything)
Check out this - dashboard. Then please click on the 'logical functions' tab.
Here's a screenshot to show that it explains it, offers it as a dimension and a measure (color), and helps dive between different logical function types, usages, and implementation. OM NOM NOM NOM.
Because it's impossible to memorize all of this... The dashboard hopefully helps cut through the ramp up.
You can put the Calculation1 calculated field in Colors marks of the measures and edit color to give Green and Red color to the values.
Have attached the sample .twbx file for reference
Book1-LR - AJ.twbx 94.9 KB
Hello again, the solution is in the dashboard above. I believe explaining it further will encourage your mouse to click the links.
- Below is a screenshot showing the usage on the dimension and color.
- It shows ElseIf usage, along with most other logical conditions.
- Below that I type out the entire calculation, you can edit it to fit your need.
then "Not Great"
else "OK" END
Change Great to Green, Change Not Great to Something Else, and so on.
The dashboard offers solutions to your current work.
