When installing Tableau, the setup will identify the domain that the server has been added to, and use this as its settings.
I'm not sure what you mean by ' Seems like too simple of a configuration to integrate with AD? '
Please can you clarify?
Thanks for your responses. When I configured AD integration for another BI tool, I had to provide a bunch of information such as host, port, principal, user base DN, etc. For Tableau, I just need to specify the domain name and that's it. So it seems Tableau is much simpler and smarter than the other BI tool I was using.
As the Windows Server that Tableau is running on is a member of the domain, then it can leverage this for AD authentication
