Put your date on columns.
Drag Measure Names to Rows
Drag Measure Values to Columns
Select Show Me / Tex Table
Drag the Measure Values that you don't want off the Measure Values card.
Thanks Ray -
I got that far but then realized that my Date in the Column field was the problem.
The date value I pull over is the date of the "Consult" field. What I need is a generic Date to put in columns, does that make sense? When I use the date for consults, my treatments are then only counted against those consults as the base line... what I need is just a date pill that doesn't use another metric. Is there a way to do that?
in my columns I have
What i need is a date pill that isn't already counting something...
Sounds like yes, you need a "graph date" calculated field or something. Like
if [consult indicator = 'Y'] then [consult date]
elseif [treatment indicator = 'Y'] then [treatment date]
Or, possibly I am not understanding the problem...
No I think you're correct. A "Graph Date" that is unaffiliated with any measure is what I need.
Basically in Excel your columns are just dates (1/1/2015 etc) and your countif statement says if you have a Consult date and falls in that month then count it. Then on a different row, if you have a treatment date that falls within that month count it and so on.
I'm trying to do that in Tableau so I need to create an agnostic graph date for my x axis.
Apologies if I'm not explaining this well
Okay, so the existence of the date itself can act as the flag:
if not isnull( [consult date]) then [consult date]
elseif not isnull( [treatment date]) then [treatment date]
