Filling missing values in the data

    Abderrahim Oubidar

      Hi everyone,

I have a question related to filling some missing values in my data, I have 2 table that i join together, the first gives the sales for each day, the other is monthly budget.

to simplify things let's suppose that 1 table has only 1 row :

      Month
      Budget
      93000.00

in the second table we could have :

      DateDayMonthSales
      01/09/201719300.00
      02/09/201729144.50
      05/09/201759213.95
      06/09/20176910.55
      07/09/201779412.99

By merging the two tables and adding the missing dates in tableau i get the following data:

      DateDayMonthSalesBudget
      01/09/201719300.003000.00
      02/09/201729144.503000.00
      03/09/2017nullnullnullnull
      04/09/2017nullnullnullnull
      05/09/201759213.953000.00
      06/09/20176910.553000.00
      07/09/201779412.993000.00

Now if I plot the budget across the date, i don't get that horizontal line that I expect because of the nulls, so I want to know if there is a way to fill the missing dates with data, to have something like this :

      DateDayMonthSalesBudget
      01/09/201719300.003000.00
      02/09/201729144.503000.00
      03/09/2017nullnull03000.00
      04/09/2017nullnull03000.00
      05/09/201759213.953000.00
      06/09/20176910.553000.00
      07/09/201779412.993000.00

I am not sure if it's possible so if anyone have a way to get the result, i will be very grateful
