I’m sorry the error messages aren’t more obvious. The next line of of text indicates the error: “Unable to find the server at api.twilio.com <http://api.twilio.com/>”. The most likely situation here is that the physical or virtual machine that VizAlerts is running on is locked down and does not have access to the api.twilio.com <http://api.twilio.com/> host, you should check your security rules.
Thanks Jonathan Drummey your response. I have a few questions want to ask.
1,As you said that the physical or virtual machine is locked down so that no access to the api.twilio.com. Can I say that machine need to connect interenet can send message? If that machine is in the offline work environment that's mean can access the api.twilio.com?
2,You said check security rules, is it in yaml file or where is it?Here is setting in yaml file:
# Security settings
I’ll answer in reverse order.
2. The settings are not in VizAlerts, they are operating-system level firewall settings.
1. The machine does need to be connected to the internet. If it’s completely offline then you won’t be able to connect to api.twilio.com <http://api.twilio.com/> to send messages. VizAlerts does not presently have a capability to batch messages to send later, so the internet connection needs to be available at the time VizAlerts is run.
Thanks Jonathan Drummey your response. Just one quick question ask, If the Internet connection is okay, may I know how to run the script automation? Because currently I run in the cmd environment and put the word "python C:\VizAlerts\vizalerts.py" to run it, that's mean every time I need to put this word to run, have another way to tell the machine automatic run?
Roy, after having answered several questions of yours already, I'm going to have to recommend that you read through the entire Install Guide. Doing so will save you much time, as it takes you step by step through this process, including descriptions and screenshots of how to accomplish what you just asked.
Thanks Matt Coles your advice. I already read through the Install Guide, but there's some points seem a little confuse with me when I work the configuration, that's why I ask your experienced expert to get help. Really appreciate it you can help me, Matt.
