I have a question are you saying that you have a workbook with 200 different dimensions/measures that you want to filter or there is a single measure (or a limited number) from which you want to select 200 values to include in the VIZ?
Try creating a boolean IF statement, then placing it on the filter's shelf.
IF([Value Name] = 'VALUE1' OR [Value Name] = 'VALUE2' OR [Value Name] = 'VALUE2') THEN TRUE ELSE FALSE END
Not necessarily the fastest, but copying and pasting the OR statements shouldn't take too long. The only issue I can foresee would be if you want this to be dynamic, as this method definitely leans towards static values.
Hi Marc and Jim,
I have a client ID field that I need to have about 200 selected in order for my revenue amounts to total correctly (lots of little pieces adding up to a correct total.) It doesn't need to be dynamic as it doesn't change very frequently. Thanks for the IF THEN statement idea, I was worried that there would be a limit to the number of ORs that I could use. I will give it a go!
Unfortunately, I got the error "Expression is too complex" in the calculated field box. Seems there is a limit to the number of ORs once can have in these types of statements. Anyone know the limit?
Any other ideas for to create this filter since IF THEN OR won't work here?
Interesting, I didn't think this would even exist. I'm sure I can find you a solution, I just need a bit more information on your problem. The best thing for you to do would be to let me know your desired output and attach a packaged workbook.
