Are you talking about an on-premise deployment that is integrated with Active Directory? If so, are you just able to import Active Directory groups into Tableau Server which should provision the users. In terms of custom permissions, I don't know of any method for porting this over.
Yes, I am going to do it on - premise deployment that is integrated with AD. I need to import all the work books as well to the server which the user had been doing for past 1 year in tableau online.
I see now. For the workbooks on Tableau Online, I'm not sure of what option exists, just because I don't manage such a deployment. Does Tableau give you a tsbak backup file to use or is tabcmd an available option? If you have a tsbak (which I doubt), then you can do a tabadmin restore --no-config to your on-premise. If tabcmd is an available option, then you can try to do a tabcmd exportsite from Tableau Online and then a tabcmd importsite to your on-premise tabadmin commands . If neither of these are an option, then it's probably going to be more manual unless Tableau Support gives you an alternative. The manual option could include a tabcmd get followed by a tabcmd publish.

Tableau does offer some help in this area so you may want to reach out to your Tableau account manager/representative
Which has the following note:
Note: If you want to migrate a site from Tableau Online to a site on your own Tableau Server deployment, contact Tableau to complete the export process for you. The Tableau representative will send you the export files that you can then import to your site on Tableau Server.
Thanks for your response. So what I understand here is I need to contact Tableau ans should request them as "Hey Tableau we have built tableau server in QA and Prod and it's up and running live. Now I need all my Tableau Online user's workbook in my organization to get migrated to my prod environment". So if this the procedure I have a quick question, now we are building a new site strategy plan for prod which differs from current tableau online site plan. So I need to import only work book of tableau online users and not the site. Is that possible?

If your team has on premise Tableau Server, I'd like to think there was a Tableau salesperson tied to the sale at one point. That person can help you get things rolling but if for some reason they're no longer available you can send email to "firstname.lastname@example.org" letting them know you'd like to move from Tableau Online to on premise Tableau Server and provide the site you'd like exported and they should be able to help out.
Worst case scenario it could turn out you have to initially import into the same site but then once you have what you need stored in on premise Tableau Server you could always use a tool like TabMigrate to move the data to a different site the way you want it setup. Then you can clear out the one one site.
Thanks and that gives me more clear idea what I have to do. Yes, we do have a sales person from Tableau and I will engage him for next step. Thanks again.
