Sounds like the backup may be failing, check the tabadmin.log file to see what caused the failure.
I've only ever had backups to fail due to lack of storage space, if it's anything else definitely engage Tableau support.
Thanks Justin for the response.
Can you please let me know what is the free space required for Backup file to generate properly.
Backup job is running successfully.
We have free space of around four times the size of backup file but still facing same issue.
Please check the Tabadmin log file. That would give the details if the backup ran fine or not.
If it has failed, then it would log the failing reason also.
Another hint, try to change the location where the backup files would be placed.
I do face this issue few weeks back. It's not the issue with the file that got created in your case.
Check in your batch script if you are moving/copying this backup file to a different folder.
if yes, then the batch script is copying the file to your destination without actually finishing its complete process.
Please remember that the system needs a second or two to consolidate the backup file after completing the backup command.
So, my suggestion is try adding a break/sleep for 10 secs before you copy the file to Destination. this will definitely address your issue.
Let me know, how it goes..
I have checked Tabadmin.log but could not find any reason there.
And we are not moving Backup file to any other folder.
You could be running out of space for backup. I think you need at least double the size of the backup file size free? Check the tabadmin.log for clues.
