Please provide more details on how your weights are derived.
You could create a calculated field like this;
IF [Country] = "USA" THEN 1.1
ELSEIF [Country] = "UK" THEN .9
ELSEIF [Country] = "CA" THEN 1.25
Then you could use that field in your other calculations like SUM([Revenue]*[Weighting Calculation])
I assume the weights are all different - i.e. it is not a constant adjustment to be applied to each weight - if that is the case probably the easiest way is to have your weights on a separate data file (like an excel sheet) and update the excel sheet and reload it into tableau as a Refresh - look on the data source tab - selec your data source and the select data from the top ribbon - you would select refresh data source to complete the update
Let me know if this helps
That what I did . but I can't set more than one weight . example I can't have 0.9 to UK and 1.25 CA in the same execution. also All the weights must be from parameters.
If they must come from parameters then you'll need an individual parameter per weighting.
I have more than 40 variables and I can't add 40 parameters in the sheet. Can I use some thing else.
Can I I use something like a grid (item/value) in tableau.
You could create a 2 column excel sheet like:
you would want the column headings to be the same as the dimensions that names you use in tableau
Creating 40 parameters isn't that big of a deal. Do it once and you're
If you need something grid like, connect in an excel sheet with the
weightings, or maybe even connect to a Google sheet.
