Tableau Server behind IIS, internal vs public CA certificate?

I have an IIS web server VM that is Internet facing, with an external IP and a certificate from a public Certificate Authority. The web pages it serves up have embeds coming from a back end Tableau Server VM.

I do not want to make the Tableau Server directly accessible from the Internet. The IIS server is on an AD domain that trusts the AD domain that the Tableau Server is on.

If we bind a certificate from the internal CA (running ADCS) that services the Tableau Server’s domain, will our users who access the IIS web server from the Internet be able to see the Tableau Server embeds? Or do we have to bind a certificate from a public CA on the Tableau Server and give that VM an external IP accessible from the Internet?
