I was at the event in Edinburgh last week and would be interested in this. I work in the public sector and currently have access to Tableau but no idea how to use it effectively/at all. I want to be able to demonstrate its value - but didn't want to get involved in a sales discussion during the event (not least because we'd have to go through a whole procurement exercise, being public sector etc). Any advice? Or do you know of anyone in the public sector in Scotland who is already using Tableau?

I work at NSS (NHS) Graeme and we have been using Tableau Desktop (and Tableau Server) for about 4 years now. We have multiple high end, high availability clusters that we use to support various NHS Scotland visualisation needs.
More recently we have been allowing non NHS public bodies (based in Scotland) access to these clusters so that they don't have to purchase and support their own servers. If you need more information let me know and I can pass your details to our BI Service Manager.
Thanks for commenting - that would be very helpful, thank you. I will see if there is a messaging option here and send you some details - if not, I'll comment back here.
Ok looks like I can't send a message but I don't mind sharing details here: graeme.henderson(@)sssc.uk.com
I work for the Scottish Social Services Council, and I know we have worked closely with NES in the past but not sure if there are current links with yourselves.
I would be interested if by beginner you mean a total beginner with only access to the free version of Tableau currently that I struggle to log in! I've only got as far as uploading a dataset and going through the online tutorials. I know what I want to replicate and it would make an enormous difference to my organisation so I would love a kickstart getting there.
