Hi Jason - FYI I have moved your query into the Server & Online Admin forum where it will hopefully attract more responses. The Community Canvas area of the site is for posting discussions/queries related to the Community site itself such as 'why can't I add a packaged workbook?' etc.
Just to verify are you seeing this error in Tableau Desktop? If so, are you running version 10.2.2? There does seem to be an issue that we're researching. If you do fit this scenario we'd recommend uninstalling 10.2.2 and installing 10.2.1
Same here except I had 10.1.7 working perfectly fine and after upgrade to 10.1.8 it shows:
- The Essbase API version for this application is incompatible with the Oracle® Essbase client installed on this machine.
Driver reinstallation do not help.
Downgrade to 10.1.7 do.
This does seem to have been recently introduced with the May maintenance support releases (9.3.15, 10.0.10, 10.1.8, 10.2.2).
For now the workaround is to uninstall that version and should work if you go just one maintenance release back (ie 9.3.14, 10.0.9, 10.1.7, and 10.2.1)
These versions can be downloaded form the alternate download site:
For anyone following this thread will update as soon as we know when the fix will be available.
We had the same issue with Essbase connection with Tableau 10.2.2 version.
Issue is because of the Oracle Essbase driver package not containing the proper version within that installer. The driver package has since been updated on the Tableau Drivers page.
To resolve the issue, please download and install the newer Oracle Essbase driver from the Tableau Drivers page
