# Shapes to replace the bar chart

Hi,

I am trying to replace the bar chart with circles which will represent percentage. The graph with circle should be in such a way that the % should show in a colored circle and the remaining (100-%) should show as grey.

I am using Index() function but that is not helping. I have also used below formula to replace the bar graph but that is also not helping.

If INDEX()-1<=INT(WINDOW_SUM(SUM([Rate]))/100)

THEN

INDEX()*100

END

I have included my workbook and the screenshot of how the chart should come up.

Hi Rishabh,

You are essentially trying to build a waffle chart.

Thanks a lot Sujay. This is really helpful.

However, I had a followup question. So in the video they use aggregate function to calculate the value and then change it to %. I have the value in excel as % which is changing to decimal value when I put it in Tableau. I am changing that format to % but then it is becoming wrong value. So below is what is happening.

Value in excel: 2%

In Tableau: 0.02

After Changing to % format: 200%

Hi Varun,

If the % is already calculated in your input data then you do not have to set the number format. Drop the field on the color shelf similar to the Profit Ration field in the video.

Best,

Sujay
