As in AWS or similar ?
Usually you just RDC to the server, download the Tableau Server version that you want to install and then install
The installer does a backup, but you might wish to backup first.

Why not go for 10.2 ?
Before you start, do a backup and make sure your licensing is current.
Anyway, as I said - do a Remote Desktop Connect to the server, download the new version and install.
it's pretty much a "follow the bouncing ball" approach.

I have a question If you could help me that would be great. So, I have two app nodes and two working nodes in Tableau Server. So how do I upgrade in Tableau server now. I mean it has four nodes totally so how is the process here.

Sorry, I've never upgraded a multi-node system. If no one responds here it might be best to contact Tableau Support or your Account Manager to get some help.
I could GUESS, but it's better to find out the factual way to approach it.
