kevin knorpp Apr 20, 2017 5:35 AM (in response to Prayson Wilfred Daniel)Thanks for your reply. I tried this but gaps still appear. I also tried forcing border on just to see what it did and where gaps are there is a darker/wider "border". Weird.

kevin knorpp Apr 20, 2017 5:38 AM (in response to Prayson Wilfred Daniel)Also I should probably point out that the mark type for this viz is bar. I also tried using a square mark type but doesn't look like that will work for this viz type.

HI Kevin
Just wondering if it happens to only your PC or others to? is that something you have checked?
^^ my thinking is it maybe related to the graphics card/ screen resolution
only other thing is a complete guess - toggling this on/off - no idea what it does?!
the attached workbook seemed fine on my PC... v10.2
which version are you using? and on PC or Mac?
Cheers
Mark

kevin knorpp Apr 20, 2017 11:20 AM (in response to Mark Fraser)OK guys. I believe I figured it out. Many thanks for all the help as your feedback gave me ideas for what to check.
What I found was:
- The Square mark type works the way I want it to when I use a continuous field for color
- ...but the colors are only spread across the number of "bins" I have
- ...but i can force the Start and End of the range
- ...but I still have less control over the colors than with discrete, categorical colors
- ...or do I because I can use a custom diverging palette
- ...but still not as much controls as I'd like
- ...unless I use a custom sequential palette

Workbook attached. I'll be doing a video also to share with community.
