# New Spender data

Hi,

I have a purchase dataset for my application. It has data for all my purchasers.

I am trying to calculate my new spender revenue for a particular time frame.

New Spender is a person who made their first purchase in that period.

Question: New Spender Weekly Revenue

Week 1: April 3-April 9

Week 2: April 10-April 16

So for my Week 1 , I would have the revenue from all the users who made their first purchase in april3-april 9 but i want their total revenue for april3rd-9th and not just the revenue from my first purchase. Similarly for Week 2 Revenue from users who made their first purchase between april 10-16.

Please find attached the sample data.

Hi Megha,

Find my approach below as reference and stored in attached workbook version 9.3 located in the original thread.

1. New Spender: {fixed [ID]:min([Purchased Date])}

2. Custom Date New Spender

3. Custom Date Purchased Date

4. Totaal Sales:{fixed [ID]:sum([Amount])}

Norbert

Hi Megha,

Find my approach as reference below and stored in attached workbook version 9.3 located in the original thread.

New Spender: if {fixed [ID]:min([Purchased Date])}=[Purchased Date] then [Amount] END

Hi Norbert,

I understand this, but I want this to be separate bars if I select more than one week.

Also, my new spenders(april3-april9) will include their amount spent from april 3-9th and not after that.

HI Megha,

I hope I understand your request correct. FInd it in attached workbook version 9.3 located in the original thread.

Hi Norbert,

Its still incorrect.

For example your week16 shows 129 but the correct value is 201.7.

You are calculating the sum of first purchases only but we have to also consider their purchases in the whole week window and not just their first day.

Can you try doing this.

Hi Megha,

Apologize for the omission my side. I updated the calculated field

New Spender: if {fixed [ID]:min([Purchased Date])}=[Purchased Date] then {fixed [ID]:sum([Amount])} END

Hope is it sufficient now. Let me know on return.

Have a nice one

Regards,

Norbert

Hi Norbert,

I am afraid it is still not correct.

Week 15 (apr 3-9) should give value 375.5 , it is still calculating as the Whole Spend till date and not just for the week.

Hi Norbert,

Hi Megha,

Checked the entire thread once again do get a clear understanding what you are aiming for. I think I got it

if {fixed [ID]:min([Purchased Date])}=[Purchased Date] then {fixed [ID],[Purchased Date (Week numbers)]:sum([Amount])} END

Hope to hear from you.

Have a nice day,

Regards,

Norbert

If you have some spare time, can you please look into almost a similar and realted problem.

I have 2 dataset user DB : which logs  everytime ( date time field )user comes into my app

and Purchase DB: which logs the purchase date and tiem of user if he makes a purchase.

Problem:

I am trying to find the count of my users who made first purchase the week they joined.

Notes: Join date would the minimum of logtime.

First Purchase date would be the minimum of the Purchase dates.

Example: w.r.t to the sample databases attached

Week 17-24 Jan : should give me the count of users who joined between 17-24 jan and made their first purchase between 17-24 jan

Week 25-31 Jan : should give me the count of users who joined between 25-31 jan and made their first purchase between 25-31 jan

Please find attached the sample data set ( User and Purchase data sample)

I am looking for presenting the data in the similar way i.e w.r.t to each week.
