# Max dimension selection in worksheet title

Hi,

The data set I'm working with has one DATE, the 28th, for each month back to Jan 2013 thru Feb 2017.  So I have a dimension for YEAR(DATE) and one for MONTH(DATE).  Say in Feb I have multiple months chosen for a year to date figure as of Feb.  How can I use the MONTH(DATE) dimension selection to show Feb only in the title of my worksheet and not Jan & Feb as I currently have it showing when I input <Month(Date)> in the worksheet title?

Thanks

Hi Anthony,

You can achieve this by creating multiple calculated fields,

1) {MAX(MONTH([Order Date]))}

2)

IF [MAX Title]=1 Then 'January'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=2 Then 'February'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=3 Then 'March'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=4 Then 'April'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=5 Then 'May'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=6 Then 'June'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=7 Then 'July'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=8 Then 'August'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=9 Then 'September'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=10 Then 'October'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=11 Then 'November'

ELSEIF [MAX Title]=12 Then 'December'

END --> change this to dimension--->Title Month

And use the Title Month in Title to make it dynamic

Hi Anthony,

In simplest way you can try this,

DATE({MAX(DATETRUNC('month', [Order Date]))})

Hope this help.

I'd like to thank both of you for the input.  However when I'm creating the new calculation for MAX MONTH, it's only populating the filter with DECEMBER.  When I 'show filter', it comes out as YEAR(DATE), not month.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Right click on your date field and select below option.

Hope this help.

This is what I get when I right click:

Or am I supposed to right click on MAX MONTH after I create that calculated field?

I got it!  I was marking the wrong MONTH(DATE) as being added to context.  Once I added the month that was already part of the data, it worked.

Thanks to both of you as both solutions worked!
