So yes there is....
Tableau automatically sorted (in Ascending Order) any blue pill, and so everything to the right of that blue pill gets sorted. This means that the negative of a field is a descending sort.
In the attached I created this measure in the secondary source
[Credit Usd - Sorter]
and I bring this into the viz (with the SUM aggregate). I then make it discrete
I also wrapped this in a ZN, as there were 3 names which had NULL [Credit Usd], and these get sorted to the top unless we make them Zero (using ZN)
I've left this column visible, but you can hide this header in your final version and so just leave the sorted list.

Genius, thanks so much Simon. The challenge is though, unless i didn't get something right, htat the ZN column is visible with the negative amounts. Ideally i'd like it to work like a rank or something that I can then remove it from the columns shelf and keep the names sorted...makes sense?
