# Want to Calculate sum as per Global Account

Hello All,

I have a requirement in which I want to calculate sum as per global account. Suppose I have global account for NAM region as '100' and for LATAM region as '100la' .

But when I check for LATAM region and '100la' global account then amount should be only for latam region. but when I check for '100' then my amount should include value for both the account number i.e. amount will be sum of (100la + 100) account.

Kindly help me on this. I have attached the workbook with sample data.

Regards,

Hi Abhishek,

I've looked at your workbook. I apologise but it is unclear what your desires results are. When you have two dimensions in the view (Region and Global Account) everything is currently summing the amount based on each unique combination of these.  If you only use global account and not region then if there were any global accounts in multiple regions, the regions would not be included and you'd only sum up amount based on the global amount. If you want to a field that includes 100la and 100 you should look into creating groups in tableau. You can add another level of aggregation such that 100 and 100la would be aggregated under the same umbrella.

Hello Carl,

Those "Global Account" that starts with 100 in the "Region" "LATAM" sales are coming under the sales of the "Region" "NAM". So When I select all those "Global Account" of "LATAM" "Region"  that starts with 100 then it should be summed up in the "SUM(Sales)" of "NAM" "Region".

Please find me a way around it for this kind of scenario.

Regards,

Abhishek

I still am not seeing what you are asking or trying to achieve.

Hello Carl,

Suppose I select global account '100la' then it diplays the amount for that account, and when I select for 100br, then it displays the amount for 100br. But when I select 100, then as being the key account for above 2 as well, it must display the sum of amount for the account(100+100br+100la) and so on.

Abhishek,

In your workbook there is not any filters or parameters. How are you 'selecting' values. What do you mean by this?

I again recommend creating groups. Right click the dimension 'Global Account'  on your dimensions pane. Then choose create -> create group.  From here you can group the values together and give change the names of each group so that  it matches what you want to see.

Carl,

I have 1 quick filter, Global Account, if I select 100la in quick filter, then it should display the amount for 100la, but when I select 100 then it will contain value for account(100+100br+100la) and so on.
