How to show permissions to non-Admin users?

    Andrew Clapson

I am the Server Admin for my organization, and we manage permissions by Project, where all Projects (save the Default aka Sandbox) have their permissions locked to the project. In this way, there is a Project for each audience, sort of: All Employees; Marketing; Senior Management; etc.

The issue I'm having is that I get a lot of questions like: "Can user/team X see this viz if I put it in that folder?". I know users have a few different ways to see the list of Users who can view/interact with their workbook, but ideally I'd like them to be able to see the same Project-level permissions summary that I can see on the 'Permissions' tab of any project.

How do other Server admins handle this task?

Is it possible to build a permissions viz using the server metadata? That could solve all this, for sure...

      Thanks!
