Thank you for your response, but this would not return my desired solution. The data would then look like “Apples, Kale”; “Apples, Spinach” etc.

You could also combine fields by making a pivot table out of the two fields on your Data Source view
- Highlight [Fruits]
- Highlight [Vegetables]
- Select Pivot
You can then rename the newly generated field [Pivot Field Values] to whatever you desire...
This last approach won't give you the comman-delimited string you're after, but it will give you a list.
