Are the five data sources are from different databases?
Are they are 5 tables from the same database?
How did you turned them into a single data source?
Did you do a join or union?
Are the five data sources are from different databases? Yes
Are they are 5 tables from the same database? No
How did you turned them into a single data source? Initially they were on Oracle DB.. i sqooped all the tables into a single database in hive.
Did you do a join or union? I have used joins in individual data sources in the original one. I need to make those changes accordingly in the new environment.. No two data sources had the same set of tables in the original environment.
If you have joined the data sources based on the joins and you have the referential integrity properly designed in the database. Then no need to do any sort of changes in the Visualization part. Just replace the data sources with the new data source and do refer the field s to the new fields. Then you are good to go.
I will try to explain my problem in detail.
My initial connection was an Oracle Server O, and I used tables :
a1, a2 from Database A
b1,b2 from Database B
c1,c2 from Database C.
My new connection is in hadoop ,say H
All the tables a1,a2,b1,b2,c1 and c2 are available in a single database called D.
All the visualisations are made with respect to the datasources A,B and C.
How do i write the query for the new environment so that:
the joining of a1 and a2 will be labelled as A,
the joining of b1 and b2 will be labelled as B,
the joining of c1 and c2 will be labelled as C
even though a1,a2,...c2 all are in the same schema.
I guess i explained it in a good manner Please help me to change the data source part.
So you need a query to show them as A, B ,C in the current environment.
Yes , because then i need not make any changes in the visualization part.
